Huawei to Expand Air Gesture File Transfer Feature to More Devices

Huawei introduced some cool AI-powered features with its Mate 70 devices, and one of them is the Air Gesture File Transfer feature. Now, it seems the tech giant is planning to bring this amazing feature to more flagship smartphones and tablets.

What is Air Gesture File Transfer?

This feature makes sharing files super easy! With it, you can:

  • Share files, like photos, just by waving your hand in the air—no need to touch the screen.
  • Use a simple "grab" gesture to take a screenshot.
  • Send the screenshot (or other files) to multiple devices by moving your hands.

It’s similar to Apple’s AirDrop but even more advanced.

How Does It Work?

  • To use this feature, you need to log in with the same Huawei ID on both devices.
  • The devices must recognize the "grab" gesture to start sharing. If they don’t, the file transfer will fail.

Which Devices Support It?

Currently, the feature works on some devices running the latest HarmonyOS NEXT Beta version, including:

  • Huawei Mate 60 series
  • Huawei Pura 70 series
  • Huawei Pocket 2
  • Huawei Mate X5
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2024)

More devices are likely to get this feature after an official software update.

What’s Next?

Huawei plans to roll out this feature to more devices after upgrading to HarmonyOS NEXT. While we wait for an official announcement, these devices might be the first to get the AI Air Gesture File Transfer.

Stay tuned for updates on this innovative feature!
